पहले ही जब वो कह चुका क्यों वो मिले वो आये क्यों
फिर भी हसीन ख्वाबे वस्ल दिल ने मुझे दिखाए क्यों
Sweetheart cleared not to meet and come even before
Despite all beautiful dreams of union heart showed to lure
ये तो तालुकात पर आयी हुई बहार है
शर्म का इसमें ज़िक्र क्या इस्पे कोई लजाये क्यों
It is the spring that pervades over love relation
So why to shame and bashfulness in passion
ज़ीस्त के इस सफर में बस तू ही है मेरा हौसला
जिसको हो तेरा आसरा पाओं वो डगमगाए क्यों
In the journey of life thou art my courage my energy
How can that leg totter which has prop in shape of thee
इश्क़ में हैं मुसीबतें हुस्न के अपने नाज़ है
अक़्ल की बात सुन तो ली दिल उसे मान जाये क्यों
Love has troubles behind it and beauty has its own coquetry
Heard but how can heart follow the suggestion of sagacity
उसके जफ़ाओ जोर पर हमने कहा कि हम चले
कैसे अदाओ नाज़ से उसने कहा कि हाय क्यों
On the mercilessness of beloved I said desperately,"I will die"
Upon this with style and evasion she said ,"Why"?
तूने वफ़ा की दी सनद ग़ैर को हो गयी है हद
मुझको ज़रा बता तो दे यार मेरे बजाये क्यों
Limit-Thou conferred upon rival title of loyalty
Pacify me and tell a bit why instead of me
मुझमें सुहैल आग है और मिज़ाज उसका सर्द
जीत हो मेरी किस तरह हार भला वो जाये क्यों
I possess fire in me and cold is she by temperament
So how can I win and can she lose in such battlement
