Bus uska husn hai wan hoor kya malak kya hai
usi ka jalwa hai aor aasmaan tak kya hai
[Absolute Beauty is present there and nothing as Hoories and angels
And only His luster prevails over limits of sky]
Hansi udata hai shikwon ki ,mere lafzon ki
Wo keh raha hai ada se ki ye lalak kya hai
[Beloved laughs away my grievances and my words too
Asks in lighter vein " what does fondness as you say mean?" ]
Bichadte waqt wo tasweer apni deta hai
Use bataon main kya uski ek jhalak kya hai
[While departing sweetheart gifted her picture to amuse me
But how can I tell about importance of her single glimps]
Wafa ka apni jo maine yaqi'n dilaya hai
wo keh rahe hain ye tanzan ki ismen shak kya hai
[When I tried to manifest my loyality in my love the loved one
Responded sarcastically saying "absolutely no doubt about that"]
Haseen chehra dehek utha meri qurbat main
Main aaj asl men samjha chamak damak kya hai
[That lovely countenance started burning in my company
At this juncture I could comprehend what is shine and what is flush]
Ishare uske samajhte hain chaand aor sooraj
To uski quwate parwaaz ko falak kya hai
[His signals even sun and moon follow
So before his power of flight heights of horizon are but insignificant]
Phir aa gaya mujhe karne naseehaten naseh
To aaj jal ke kaha maine usse "bak", "kya hai"
[Again appeared the boring adviser with insipid sermons
so burning with anger I said, "utter nonsense - continue"]
Umeede wasl jagi usne hans ke mujhse kaha
is aik baat ki tumko batao jhak kya hai
[The hope of union awakened as sweetheart stated,
" why do you instantly repeat in delirium only one point"]
chidak ke zakhmon pe mere wo fitnagar mujhse
Ye poochta hai namakda'n hai kya namak kya hai
[sprikling salt on my wounds that cruel being asks to me,
"What actually salt and salt- cellar mean]
Khud apni zaat men uljha hai wo suhail afsoos
usey khabar hi nahin pyaar ki kasak kya hai
[One who is entrapped in his own self alaas!
can not realize the pricks of the spirit of love]
