जो है ये महिये दिल आब से तू बाहर खींच
बराये लुत्फ़ रगे सब्र को सितमगर खींच
Pull out of water the fish of my heart
O! Heartless drag vein of my patience for fun apart
अब इसके बाद जो अंजाम होगा तुझपर है
हमारे दिल में जुदाई का जो है नश्तर खींच
Then it will be upto thee the consequence of thy action
Get out the lancet that pricks and pierce of separation
वगरना मुझको फंसा लेगी दाम में दुनिया
तू अपनी सम्त अगर हो सके बराबर खींच
The world will entrap me mind it O! Lovely
Drag me in any case if possible often to thee
असर हो जज़्बों में ऐसा वो खुद चला आये
उसी से यार को तू अपने दिल के अंदर खींच
Such effect should be in thy emotions which may draw her near
And by virtue of which you can get her into within to endear
ये तुझसे होगा कि तू नक़्षाये मोहब्बत को
हमारी रूह पे फूलों से रंग लेकर खींच
Would you be able to draw map of love affairs
Upon my soul getting the color from flowers
वो जिससे आ न सके जो वफ़ा का दुश्मन हो
लकीर ऐसी मेरे यार अपने दर पर खींच
May not come in one who is foe of love and loyalty
Draw a line with some spell upon threshold of thee
सुहैल ये भी अजब बात है मुसव्विर से
वो कह रहा है कि तस्वीर मुझसे बेहतर खींच

महिये दिल=दिल की मछली ,आब=पानी ,बराये लुत्फ़=मज़े के लिए ,रगे सब्र=धीरज की नस ,सम्त =ओर , नक़्षाये मोहब्बत=प्रेम का मानचित्र ,दर=द्धार,मुसव्विर=चित्रकार
