INTIZAAR
Waiting Process [poem -a translation of urdu ghazal]
wo husn usmen mehw preshan hai intizaar
(Beauty is engrossed in looking out for love which worries waiting itself)
lekin meri nazar men farozan hai intizaar
(That state brightened in my eyes mysterious rays of hope)
aye kash humpe ishq men aaye na ye ghadi
(Prayed I,such moment should not come to me in love)
Dil doobte hain jisme wo toofaan hai intizaar
(Expecting is that hurricane which sinks hearts into exasperation )
aazaad dil ko kariye firaaqo visaal se
(set free thy heart from desire of union or sadnesss of separation,)
phir dekhiye baharo bahaaran hai intizaar
(Only then spring would flourish in thy within)
soorat unhin ki zehn men hai aur kuch nahin
(Nothing but the lovely countenance is in fancy)
ek deede mustaqil ka to saaaman hai intizaar
(So waiting turned into stable process of seeing)
karta hai dil ziyarate kaaba ki aarzu
(Heart longs to see holy kaabaa)
haan yun faroghe jazbaye imaan hai intizaar
(yes wait now progresses the emotions of faith)
har roz charkh par jo ubharta hai aaftaab
(Everyday sun appears on the horizon)
main sochta hun ismen darakhshan hai intizaar
(To me it is expecting in shape of inner light)
haalat tum apni lakh chipao magar suhail
(O Poet! its futile to conceal thy state of mind)
chehre pe saaf saaf numayan hai intizaar..................
(Conspicuous there on thy face clearly craving for beloved)
