Har dil me aag shahr hai sahra hai aag me,
Itni badhi hai aag ki dariya hai age me.
[Fire all around, in every heart
in cities & in deserts,
It has extended so much that even
the rivers are in fire.]
Hanste hain dekh-dekh ke jalte hue makaan,
Kaise hain log jinka tamasha hai aag me.
[They laugh over the burning
houses around,
Typical they are - burning of
thing becomes show of amusement.]
Bas ek mere ghar pe nahi aag ke sitam,
Ek hashr sa bapa hai ki duniya hai aag me.]
[Fire is not confined to only my
abode,
It has gripped almost the whole world.]
Vo mujhse kar rahe the mohabbat ka aitraaf,
Jalne se maine unko bachaya hai aag me.
[The beloved was about to express
love,
And I saved that delicate being
from the terrible fire.]
Aankhon me uski raksaa’n hai shole shabab ke,
Kya lutf hai ki nargise shahla hai aag me.
[In those lovely eyes I see the
dance of the flames of beauty,
What a sight! Daffodil like eyes
are in fire here.]
Ye kisne aaj aag ke maani badal diye,
Ye kisne aaj phool khilaya hai aag me.
[What a charmer he is who has
changed the meaning of fire,
Rather he grew and blossomed the
flowers therein.]
Mujhko jala ke vo bhi pareshan hai suhail,
Tadpa hai usne mujhko jo dekha hai aag me.
[Though set me ablaze yet that
lovely creature is worried still,
Perturbed that mind as well
seeing me in fire of love.]
