मैं रहा उम्र भर जुदा खुद से याद मैं खुद को उम्र भर आया =जॉन ऐलिया मेरी ग़ज़ल वो कि जो मुझ पे बेश्तर आया अब वो इलज़ाम उसके सर आया That which often a charge upon me Alleged of the same now is she अक्स उसके वहां उतर आया जिससे जोबन बहार पर आया Reflection of her fell there inspiring Youthful elegance came upon spring हुस्न पर अपने उसका शक है ग़लत बेसबब जो वो बन संवर आया Wrong,if she has doubt about her beauty For nothing appeared adorned she इश्क़ काया पलट ही देता है दिले बेदर्द आज भर आया Love turns table and usually So heart of cruel is filled with malacholy मैं हूँ उलझन में देख कर उसको आज वो खुद से बेखबर आया I am in maze seeing dearest one She came alien to herself with confusion मैं न कर पाया ग़ैर ने वो किया अब हवासों में खुदनिगर आया What I could not do rival did ultimately Now came to senses the self conceited lovely मुझसे बेहतर मिला न उसको सुहैल सारी दुनिया वो घूम कर आया She failed to find better than me anywhere She travelled all the world here and there बेश्तर=बहुधा,अक्स=छाया ,खुदनिगर=खुद को निहारने वाला, दिले बेदर्द =निर्दयी
