ग़ज़ल
कहते है लोग जां का निगह्बां है फासला
आज़ार जारिया है तो दरमाँ है फासला
All say that protector of life is the distance
Amidst continuous affliction remedy is the distance
घुटती हुई दिलों में तमन्नाये वस्ल है
क़ुरबत गराँ हुई है तो अरज़ां है फासला
Suffocate within the desire of union
Costly turned nearness and cheaper became the distance
सूने पड़े हैं सारे मुक़ामात बंदगी
बिलकुल नया ये फ़ितनाये दौरां है फासला
All places of worship now are desolate
Absolutely strange is this terror of time-the distance
ले जाए अपने साथ हलाकत का हर सबब
रुखसत के वास्ते जो खिरामाँ है फासला
Must carry along all causes of death, it released
Looks it is moving to depart the distance
अब तक हुआ न था ये मआनी का उसके ढंग
अब जो हुआ है इस्पे तो हैरां है फासला
Manifests new meaning of its new look not known before
And what happened now amazed even distance itself
खोती है क़द्र सच है मुलाक़ात रोज़ की
आमिल है हम हिदायते खूबां है फासला
The daily meeting causes loss to one's dignity
I follow as it is the direction if elegant creatures
वो जिस तरह बनाता है उसका कमाल है
उसकी अदाए नाज़ का उनवां है फासला
The way she creates that is her knack
It is the pretext of her sweet gesture the distance
है जुस्तुजू तवील तो मंज़िल है वाह्मा
राही के इंतिशार का सामां है फासला
The struggle is long when the goal is but uncertain
Cause it has become of the confusion of wayfarer the distance
ये चाल है जो उसने तक़द्दुस की आड़ ली
कहने लगा तहफ़्फ़ुज़े ईमां है फासला
It is her trick that she brings chastity as an excuse
And says that in the distance lies the safety of faith
शोखी में रास्ता मेरा रोके हुए हैं फूल
उस पार मुद्दआ है गुलिस्ताँ है फासला
In playfulness, some flowers blocked my way
For whom I desire is there on the other side garden is the distance
हम दोनोँ है सुहैल जुदा रूह मुज़्तरिब
ज़ालिम हमारे हाल पे ख़नदां है फासला
Parted we are and perplexed is the soul
And the cruel distance there laughs upon our sad plight
निगह्बां=रक्षक ,आज़ारे जारिया =निरंतर रोग, दरमाँ=उपचार ,क़ुरबत गराँ =महंगी समीपता ,अरज़ां =सस्ता ,मुक़ामात बंदगी=पूजा स्थल ,फ़ितनाये दौरां=समकालीन आतंक ,हलाकत =मृत्यु ,सबब =कारण ,रुखसत =विदाई ,खीरामां=चलने की क्रिया ,अदाए नाज़=सुन्दर कृत ,उनवां =शीर्षक ,जुस्तुजू तवील=दीर्ध परिश्रम ,वाह्मा =संशय ,इंतिशार=सम्भ्रम ,तक़द्दुस=पवित्रता ,तहफ़्फ़ुज़े ईमां =धर्म की सुरक्षा,रूह मुज़्तरिब=आत्मा की पीड़ा , ख़नदां=हंसने की दशा ,हंसना
کہتے ہیں لوگ جاں کا نگہباں ہے فاصلہ
آزار جاریہ ہے تو درماں ہے فاصلہ
گھٹتی ہوئی دلوں میں تمناے وصل ہے
قربت گراں ہوئی ہے تو ارزاں ہے فاصلہ
سونے پڑے ہیں سارے مقامات بندگی
بالکل نیا یہ فتنہ دوراں ہے فاصلہ
لے جائے اپنے ساتھ ہلاکت کا ہر سبب
رخصت کے واسطے جو خراماں ہے فاصلہ
اب تک ہوا نہ تھا یہ معانی کا اسکے ڈھنگ
اب جو ہوا ہے اسپے تو حیراں ہے فاصلہ
کھوتی ہے قدر سچ ہے ملاقات روز کی
عامل ہیں ہم ہدایت خوباں ہے فاصلہ
وہ جس طرح بناتا ہے اسکا کمال ہے
اسکی اداے ناز کا عنواں ہے فاصلہ
ہے جستجو طویل تو منزل ہے واہمہ
راہی کے انتشار کا ساماں ہے فاصلہ
یہ چال ہے جو اسنے تقدّس کی آڑ لی
کہنے لگا تحفّظ ایماں ہے فاصله
شوخی میں راستہ میرا روکے ہوئے ہیں پھول
اس پار مدّعا ہے گلستاں ہے فاصلہ
ہم دونوں ہیں سہیل جدا روح مضطرب
ظالم ہمارے حال پی خنداں ہے فاصلہ
